About Ismail Adan is a senior development expert with over 18 years of experience designing and delivering complex, multi-sectoral programs across the Horn of Africa. His work spans program development, market systems strengthening, value chain enhancement, private sector engagement, economic growth, social inclusion, and trade facilitation, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected contexts such as Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. He has successfully led large-scale initiatives funded by USAID, FCDO, EU, IFAD, and GIZ, including the $65M USAID/FCDO Inclusive Resilience in Somalia (IRiS) Project and the $72M USAID/GEEL Project. Mr. Adan has directed impactful interventions in agriculture, fisheries, and livestock, leading strategic engagements with private sector actors, MSMEs, and financial institutions to expand economic opportunities and promote resilience. He has facilitated over $18M in private investment and helped secure $31.5M in exports through trade facilitation and capacity-building initiatives. His leadership in institutional capacity strengthening includes developing frameworks for trade and taxation with Oxfam GB and the Kenya Revenue Authority. Holding a Master of Finance from RMIT University and a BA (Economics) from Kenyatta University, Ismail combines technical expertise with proven leadership in stakeholder engagement, consortium coordination, and institutional reform—making him a highly capable leader in driving inclusive, market-oriented development solutions.

Besides consulting for World Vision Kenya in the areas of emergency relief& recovery, CIDA funded Agricultural Sector Development Support Program in areas of capacity needs assessment, poultry, fish & mango value chain incubation model feasibility and baseline study. Erick has held various Monitoring and Evaluation roles while working in sectors of financial inclusion, water & sanitation programs, Agri-value chain development with market systems components, recovery and resilience program, youth led governance projects with different National non-governmental organisations and International nongovernmental organisations in Kenya that include SNV Netherlands, Heifer International, Farm Africa, World Vision International, Techno-serve, Mastercard funded Digital Opportunity Trust. These demonstrable experience makes a best fit for strategic level monitoring and evaluation roles.
